Warriors allegedly attempted to get Stephen Curry and LeBron James together during the NBA trade deadline.
During last week’s NBA trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors made an incredible effort, according to ESPN, to bring together two of the greatest rivals in NBA history: LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
Before the trade deadline, the 39-year-old shared an image of an hourglass on social media, sparking speculation about his future with the Los Angeles Lakers. This season, the Lakers are one spot ahead of the Warriors, who are on a five-game winning streak, in the Western Conference at ninth place.
Lakers regarding a potential deal. Owner of the Lakers Jeanie Buss stated that although the franchise was not interested in trading its best player, James could still make a deal if he was set on leaving. But when they contacted James’s agent, Rich Paul, they received word that James was content to stay a Laker and was not interested in joining the Warriors.
According to ESPN, James also plans to rejoin the Lakers for the upcoming campaign. However, the Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers, who are rumored to have inquired about the future Hall of Famer around the trade deadline, may show renewed interest in the player.
Beginning in the 2014–15 season, while James was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, James and the Warriors faced off in four consecutive NBA finals, with Golden State coming out on top three times. James’s career was defined by the Cavaliers’ 2016 NBA Finals triumph, when he rallied his club from a 3-1 deficit to win their first-ever championship. His rivalry with Curry was further cemented throughout those finals, as both players turned in several outstanding performances for their respective clubs.
James’ agent, Draymond Green, a forward for the Warriors, reportedly urged the organization to inquire about a potential trade with the Lakers. Owner of the Lakers Jeanie Buss stated that although the franchise was not interested in trading its best player, James could still make a deal if he was set on leaving. But when they contacted James’s agent, Rich Paul, they received word that James was content to stay a Laker and was not interested in joining the Warriors.
