The Vikings, Steelers, and Falcons are the three teams trading up for picks in the newest CBS NFL mock draft for 2024.

The NFL mock draft season has reached a crucial point: it’s time to project some quarterback deals!

Christian D’Andrea did not anticipate any trades in his most recent mock, but he did have North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye ahead of USC quarterback Caleb Williams. However, Tom Fornelli’s most recent mock draft from CBS Sports projects THREE quarterback trades in the first round: the Falcons will select Jayden Daniels at No. 2, the Vikings will select Maye at No. 4, and the Steelers will select Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy at No. 9.

The Steelers don’t waste time attempting to make things right because they understand that Kenny Pickett isn’t the solution. Arthur Smith’s scheme, which sounds a lot like McCarthy’s at Michigan, is probably going to be run-heavy and dependent on tight ends and play action. McCarthy is athletic enough to consistently prolong drives with his legs, possesses a powerful arm, and can read defenses fast. Here, he would fit right in.
