Tuesday’s World Grand Prix predictions: Ronnie O’Sullivan can help Leicester replicate his Masters victory
Tuesday’s World Grand Prix predictions: Ronnie O’Sullivan can help Leicester replicate his Masters victory.
Masters champion Ronnie O’Sullivan returns to action just two days on from his Alexandra Palace exploits.
In London, the Rocket overcame a 6-3 deficit to defeat Ali Carter 10-7, winning a record-tying seventh Masters championship.
O’Sullivan didn’t have much time to celebrate his win because he had to leave for Leicester to begin his World Grand Prix campaign.
At Morningside Arena, the 48-year-old squares up against Pang Junxu in his opening-round bout.
Although the 23-year-old Chinese star could be a liability, we believe O’Sullivan will carry over his momentum into the World Grand Prix.
The Rocket is placed at a lot more alluring 7/2 to win the match 4-2 in the right direction, but he offers little value in the outrights.
Carter, who was defeated by Wu Yize in the Masters final, will also be competing on Tuesday.
Except for the final’s evening session, the Captain excelled throughout last week’s event at the Ally Pally.
With another strong performance at the World Grand Prix, Carter hopes to build on his run to the Masters final by correcting the record.
The talented 20-year-old Chinese player Yize won’t make things simple. Considering this, we are betting for the match to go over five frames at 4/6.
