Thanks to the Celtics front management for having a strong roster, Kristaps Porzingis

NEW YORK This season, the Celtics have only succeeded in assembling victories. The team’s eighth straight victory, a 116-102 triumph over the Knicks on Saturday, provided the most recent data point.

So far, it seems like everything fits together flawlessly. As they strive toward a unifying objective, the Celtics haven’t had many problems getting buy-in from every member of the roster. Thus, Kristaps Porzingis gave credit to the higher-ups for making the decisions when he was questioned if he was shocked that the C’s are this good so effortlessly.

For assembling a team of this caliber, we have to give our front office a lot of respect, added Porzingis. “This is going to work, 100% of the time, at least for me, when the opportunity presented itself. The front office, understandably, has a lot to do with why the Celtics appear so different from those of only a few years ago. The C’s had players like Marcus Smart, Grant Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, and Robert Williams III on staff as recently as the previous season. But now that all four of those players are gone, Porzingis, Holiday, and other players make up the core of this club.

Naturally, Porzingis deserves recognition for his role in turning this squad around. In addition to being a gifted big man, his ability to exploit post mismatches has improved the team’s identity. The squad as a whole merits recognition for each member’s willingness to give up a role in order to hang Banner No.

The Celtics are still relishing the regular season, even though they are dominating the East and have an eight-game advantage over the Cavaliers in second place. Naturally, given the expectations for the title, they will also eventually be evaluated based on how the playoffs go. But right now, all the front office is doing is enabling them to focus on improving their performance.
