Javon Kinlaw, a defensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers, got into an argument with local team reporter Grant Cohn this week.Kinlaw was interviewed by Brad Graham, a journalist for TheSFNiners Twitter account, following his recent altercation with team reporter Grant Cohn. When he inquired about the defensive tackle’s thoughts on practically being dehumanized by a portion of the fan support, Kinlaw had an intriguing response:
It’s excellent Well, I’m not human at all. I am a nomadic people. I’m not local to this area.”
Cohn is a local reporter that has a reputation for upsetting and disparaging some of the players in San Francisco. On Tuesday, at OTAs in Santa Clara, Kinlaw gave Cohn the cold shoulder.”Why are you looking at me like that, Javon?” Cohn then retorted. This set off the incident, during which he flipped the reporter’s hat off his head and called Cohn some disparaging epithets.Things heated up when the defensive tackle joined Cohn’s Twitter broadcast later that evening.
In the video, Kinlaw gave Cohn a heated response. He said, quote, “Stop messing with me. It’s not how I f***ing play. You’re not even close to me. It’s not me. Your appearance is known to my entire family.”
“Someone’s got to press you, and it has to be me,” the 49er continued. You enjoy coming on here to attempt to intimidate people online, but when I try to confront you in person, you f***king shake like a coward and have a voice that is lighter than my f***king infant.”
In response, Cohn questioned the 49er about whether he believed his actions during the interview were a good representation of the team.”Do you think you’re representing the 49ers well right now?” the reporter said. Are the 49ers, in your opinion, proud of what you’re saying at this moment?
