Ryan Gravenberch, Ibrahima Konate, and Thiago’s most recent injury updates and return dates for Liverpool
A few important players may be back for Jurgen Klopp’s big matchup with Manchester City.
Following the international break, Liverpool will play Manchester City in a crucial Premier League match.
The free-scoring Reds, who have mostly played well this season, are now up against the toughest test of their renewed status as title contenders.
With a commanding 3-0 victory over Brentford at the fortress of Anfield last time out, Jurgen Klopp’s team recovered from a challenging few days. Mohamed Salah’s game-winning goal at the double effectively eliminated the memory of that shock Europa League defeat by Toulouse and the draw at Luton.
With one or two players on the verge of recovering from injuries, things could get even better for Liverpool right now. However, there is still a long way to go before other important players return to action, and there is still some uncertainty surrounding a few more.
Below are the most recent injuries to Liverpool players and their anticipated return dates.
Gravenberch Ryan
Since moving from Bayern Munich to Merseyside in the summer, the Dutch midfielder has been a huge hit. However, he was sidelined against Brentford and Toulouse due to a minor knee issue, according to Klopp.
If nothing untoward has happened since then, Gravenberch should be able to play against City on Saturday.
Possible return date: November 25 on Saturday against Manchester City
Solomon Konate
Konate was a surprise absence from the team to play Brentford; he also opted out of his France duty due to what appears to be a recurrence of a hamstring injury.
Although Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps stated last week that “he felt something in his hamstring,” Klopp did not provide too much information on the matter. His tests came back normal, though.
“He needs some time to refrain from taking any chances. He already has an injury in that area.
“I didn’t think calling him up was in his or my best interests. Under ideal circumstances, he could have been working out only on Friday or Saturday.
We watch to see if Konate can make a quick comeback to City.

Similar to Konate, Gomez was an unanticipated absence from the matchday roster for the Brentford game, and as of right now, we don’t know much about the nature or extent of his problem.
After that match against the Bees, Klopp had only one thing to say about Konate and Gomez: “Yeah, both for injury reasons as well.”
“We’ll assess the severity, but they weren’t accessible today.”
It is very hard to estimate when versatile defender Gomez might make a comeback until we hear more from the Liverpool manager.
Andy Robertson: The veteran left-back Robertson is expected to be sidelined until the New Year after sustaining a shoulder injury while playing for Scotland internationally last month.
Before the exciting Sunday night draw between the Tartan Army, who are headed to Euro 2024, and Norway, he provided an update to Viaplay Sports, saying: “I’m getting there, slowly and surely.” The most important thing was that the surgery went well and there were no aftereffects.
“After three weeks of surgery, everything is going well. I just need to take things little by little, week by week. So far, so good. So far, everything has gone smoothly, and hopefully this will continue. Hopefully, I’ll be back on in no time.
When asked when he might return, Robertson said, “I haven’t looked that far ahead yet. Just trying to go week by week is all I’m doing. Since I’m not the best injured, I’m trying to accept little victories each and every week and try not to get frustrated.
“I don’t want to plan a game in my head only to abandon it or return before then. I’m just going to take things slowly at first, but eventually I’ll have to start pushing, and when that time comes, I’ll do everything in my power to get onto the field as soon as possible.”
Possible date of return: January 2024
Curtis Jones Jones last participated in the beginning of November Carabao Cup victory at Bournemouth.
But earlier this month, Klopp stated that he anticipated the 22-year-old returning to action after the international break.

Antonio Alcantara
An major source of frustration for Liverpool is the inability to keep key midfield player Thiago healthy and productive for any length of time.
Due to multiple setbacks, the injury-plagued Spaniard has not played a single game since April. It is unlikely that he will return from his ongoing hip trouble until the New Year at the latest.
“Thiago is an ongoing thing. We cannot put any pressure in there as well,” Klopp said of Thiago earlier this month.
“But we expect him to be back, I would probably say start of the New Year.
“November has already arrived. That would entail an additional four weeks, so I think that would be a reasonable attempt. I am so happy to see him again. The player is simply outstanding.
“I understand why you ask but we can’t have a week by week update because it will not change a lot in this moment.”
Possible date of return: January 2024
Stefan Bajcetic, an Academy-graduated midfielder, had a fantastic 2022–2023 season until an adductor injury early in March tragically ended it.
Following setbacks, the Spaniard has only made two appearances since, and Klopp is unsure of when he will be able to use him once more.
