Robert Saleh: The “Chickenshit” remarks made by Aaron Rodgers aren’t “an attack on the” Jets….

Aaron Rodgers’ remarks about the team this week don’t bother Robert Saleh, the head coach of the New York Jets.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Saleh stated that, in his opinion, Rodgers’ remarks do not amount to an assault on the company.

“While I don’t believe it’s a jab at the company, I always value Aaron’s opinions and observations. We’ll deal with all of that internally, but as I mentioned earlier, people will have their opinions. Still, those are matters we’ll deal with internally, stated Saleh.

The Jets wanted to return to Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback, but he was “reluctant” to return to the starting lineup, according to Zack Rosenblatt and Dianna Russini of The Athletic on Monday.

Rodgers attacked “a bunch of other leaks” from the organization to the media on Tuesday during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He called the leaks “chickens–t at its core” and said they “has no place in a winning organization.”

On Monday, Saleh refuted the initial report, stating that no choice had been made regarding the starting quarterback. Along with calling it “absolutely not” true, Wilson will start this week’s game against the Houston Texans, according to a Jets announcement on Wednesday.

To put it mildly, the Jets’ management of their quarterbacks since Rodgers’ injury has been perplexing. Before the deadline, they had seven weeks to look into trade possibilities, but they decided to remain with Wilson.

In Week 11, Wilson was benched for Tim Boyle following a poor showing in the first half of the team’s 32-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Boyle, 29, started the last two games and was formerly a member of Rodgers’ Green Bay team. In three games, he has thrown for 360 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

The Jets began the season with a 4-3 record, but they have now lost five straight games. They share the second-worst record in the AFC with the Tennessee Titans (4-8).
