Report: Newcastle is moving to pay a low of £11 million to recruit a “world-class” striker.
In January, Newcastle United wants to increase the depth of its striker options, and they could have their eye on the ideal candidate.
It’s not often that a World Cup-winning striker becomes available for about £11 million, but Newcastle may be able to do so if they move quickly.
According to reports originating from Italy, Newcastle is one of many teams eager to trigger Roma forward Paulo Dybala’s release clause before to its expiration on January 15.
There will be fierce competition for Dybala in Newcastle.
According to Corriere della Sera, the player’s agency has been approached by Newcastle, Chelsea, and Aston Villa about possible trades for the 30-year-old.
The Italian publication’s note stated:
“Fibrillation near Dybala: on January 15th, the €13 million foreign country clause will expire. For this reason, in the past several hours, representatives for Dybala have been contacted by Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle in addition to Arabia, which is not in Joya’s plans.”
Having won the Serie A championship five times with Juventus and, of course, leading Argentina to World Cup triumph in 2022, Dybala has a wealth of trophy winning experience.
Naturally, a transfer would rely on if Roberto Carlos, who called the player “world-class,” wants to stay at Roma and add to his five league goals and six assists for Jose Mourinho’s team.
Tipsbladet is citing the rumors as “pure spin” and claims to have heard that both Christensen and Barcelona are content with their existing circumstances, which involve the player not wanting to transfer and the club not wanting to sell.
They also go so far as to say that Christensen won’t be moving throughout the summer.
