The Reason Derek Forbort Won’t Play in the Bruins’ Last Road Trip Game..
Derek Forbort has been a member of the Boston Bruins for the last ten games, but on Monday night, he will make his final appearance for the team.
Forbort did not attend the morning skate in Seattle, where the Black and Gold will play the Kraken to finish their four-game West Coast road trip. After missing a team meeting, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery disclosed to media later in the day that Forbort will not wear a uniform at Climate Pledge Arena, according to NESN’s Adam Pellerin.
With Forbort sidelined, Kevin Shattenkirk is anticipated to return to Boston’s blue line. Shattenkirk only participated in one of the current road trip’s first three games, playing just under 14 minutes of ice time in the Calgary Flames’ overtime loss last Thursday. According to Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic, the 35-year-old was paired with Parker Wotherspoon on the Bruins’ third defense pairing during Monday’s morning skate.
The Bruins vs. Kraken game is set to puck drop at 10 p.m. ET. The game will be fully covered by NESN starting at 9:00 p.m.
