Pete Rose is celebrating his birthday tomorrow, so congrats on that. Happy birthday, fans! He just made a comment that astonished everyone.
WKRC (CINCINNATI) — Pete Rose, a former player for the Cincinnati Reds, is turning 74 today.
Back in March, the Reds legend requested that his lifelong ban be lifted. Pete Rose’s possible reinstatement was discussed by Major League Baseball’s commissioner in his first broadcast network interview earlier this month.
The two questions Rob Manfred, the new commissioner, stated needed to be addressed independently were whether Rose should be inducted into the Hall of Fame and whether or not he should be permitted to influence the game. Manfred added that he was impartial on the matter and pledged to hold a fair and comprehensive hearing.
That sounds like a wonderful birthday present for this year.
