As per ESPN’s First Take, the Boston Celtics are back and they’re dangerous.
After starting big man Robert Williams III of the Boston Celtics suffered a torn left lateral meniscus in March, many fans and analysts were prepared to rule out the team from the 2022 Eastern Conference playoffs.
However, Boston has done a great job of reproducing Timelord’s role with the squad, largely with success, by adjusting it to what the next man up in the frontcourt can handle. When healthy and playing competitive games against contenders even with multiple starters out of the lineup, the Celtics look almost as formidable without Williams, who is increasingly being discussed as a possible early return to the team.
Even national pundits are paying attention to these developments, and some—like Jordan Cornette of ESPN’s “First Take”—believe Boston might be one of the East’s most formidable opponents in the postseason.
After everything they’ve seen recently, hear what former Celtics players Shae, Jordan Cornette, and Kendrick Perkins had to say about Boston in the playoffs in the video attached above.
