Raphinha, a former target for Liverpool, is rumored to have been listed for sale by Barcelona prior to the January transfer window.
Before he decided to complete a dream move to play for Barcelona, the former Leeds United star was a top target for Liverpool.
But Raphinha hasn’t been playing well in Spain, and now Barcelona wants to let him go so they can make some money off of him while they can, according to Football Transfers.
There have been attempts to sell him since January 2023, but Arsenal and Newcastle United were turned off by the asking price, which was approximately €100 million (£87 million).
But because they desperately need the money, it’s said that they are prepared to take €70 million (£61 million) right now.
Raphinha, who turns 27 in a few months, is expected to attract interest from buyers, but Liverpool hasn’t expressed any particular interest as of yet. Although he’d be a fantastic addition to the squad, Klopp doesn’t think he’s good enough to start.
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are reportedly the front-runners to sign him.
Notably, Raphinha does not currently wish to leave Camp Nou.
The former Leeds player is just not good enough to take Mohamed Salah’s place when he eventually leaves the team, according to Liverpool.
After David Ornstein hinted that Salah might stay at Anfield for longer than anticipated despite interest from the Saudi Pro League, hopefully Liverpool supporters won’t have to worry about that.
