Due to a persistent back injury, Conor Bradley has not played this season; however, Liverpool has been informed that the young player’s breakthrough is “not if, but when.”
This season, the 20-year-old was predicted to fill in for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, and his early preseason performances indicated that he could.
Due to a stress fracture in his back, he hasn’t played in any capacity since the preseason’s opening 4–4 friendly draw with Greuther Furth.
Bradley has resumed training with the first team, and although this season is very different from the last—he played the most minutes of any teenager in international football—he is expected to establish himself as a Reds mainstay.
Dion Charles, a former teammate from Bolton and a native of Northern Ireland, has worked closely with Bradley, and based on his observations both on and off the field, he has no doubts the 20-year-old will succeed at Anfield.
“Conor is amazing. Charles said to the Belfast Telegraph, “He can go as far as he wants. “That young person has it all,
“The most noteworthy aspect of his mindset is his desire to improve and learn new things. As such, it will be interesting to watch not if, but when he rejoins the Liverpool team once he’s fully recovered.”
Although Bradley’s personality will allow him to welcome the challenge and seize the chance to learn from the best in the field, Alexander-Arnold is not a player who is easily replaced.
“Conor is the kind of guy who will be around him [Alexander-Arnold] every single day, rubbing shoulders with them, so it’s only going to make him better for the future,” Charles continued.
“Conor played like a 30-year-old when he first arrived at Bolton, despite having played little senior football. Conor is amazing; he plays with such experience.
It is hoped that Bradley, who has gradually resumed training with the first team, will make himself a candidate for selection before the year ends, as there will be two Europa League games and a League Cup quarterfinal.
The 20-year-old, who has only played for Liverpool five times in his career, spent 4,723 minutes in 53 appearances for Bolton last season.
