NBA records that Wilt Chamberlain broke are so numerous that they eclipse others. His 100 points overshadow a lot of his previous accomplishments, making it easy to forget that “The Stilt” has scored more than 70 points six times!

He scored 78 points against the Los Angeles Lakers between 1961 and 1962, 73 points against the Chicago Packers (now the Washington Wizards), 72 points against the Los Angeles Lakers, and even 70 points against the Syracuse Nationals (now the Philadelphia 76ers) in addition to his 100 points against the Knicks.

And for the sixth instance? On November 16, 1962, he faced his favorite opponents, the Knicks.

Make free throws with a spoon.

Wilt Chamberlain scored 73 points that evening at Madison Square Garden against the San Francisco Warriors by shooting 29/43, including 15/19 from the free throw line. with fourteen rebounds. for a triumph of 127–111.

The most intriguing aspect is that, in contrast to his 100 points, this performance was captured on camera and even colored—albeit somewhat painfully for the eyes. Above importantly, we witness Wilt Chamberlain performing a sequence of one-handed “fadeaways” while asserting his strength and skill close to the hoop. He also makes his free throws using a spoon!

He said, “They wouldn’t leave me under the basket.” I had to take a step back as a result. That’s it.

Sufficient for him to overturn Elgin Baylor’s two-year record of 71 points scored at Madison Square Garden.

Not the record from Madison Square Garden?
His coach, Bob Feerick, responded, “No, I didn’t know he was close to the record at the Garden.” “I gave it no thought at all. I assumed he had this one too because he already had all the others. He was enjoying himself, but then, he does have many evenings like this.

For the record, though, the NBA believes that Carmelo Anthony, who scored 62 points against the Bobcats in 2014, owns the points record at Madison Square Garden.

For what purpose? Since there have actually been multiple Madison Square Gardens in New York, each somewhat distinct, and the current location, the fourth, has only been open since 1968. Wilt Chamberlain scored his 73 points in the third quarter.
