NBA Releases Official Analysis of Suns-Pistons Scandal.
NBA Opens Official inquiry Into Suns-Pistons Incident: According to Insider Shams Charania, the NBA has formally opened an inquiry into the punching incident involving Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks and Detroit Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart.
Phoenix: The NBA is formally beginning its investigation into the events that took place between Isaiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons and Drew Eubanks of the Phoenix Suns yesterday night.
Stewart and Eubanks got into a fight before their game yesterday night, and after Stewart hit Eubanks in the arena, Stewart was taken into custody on charges of assault.
NBA insider Shams Charania recently revealed what he discovered during a live stream on Twitter and X:
According to what I’m hearing, Drew Eubanks took a punch to the mouth, and the video won’t show much of a reaction. He took the punch, obviously, and remained there motionless. When police and security intervened, they were separated. Isaiah Stewart was led out of the arena by police, arrested, issued a citation, and then released. Thus, the local law enforcement is essentially in charge of this. Both their ongoing probe and the league’s upcoming inquiry will take place in the next several days and weeks.”
Official Statement of Sun
“This kind of aggression is reprehensible, and the attack on Drew Eubanks was unprovoked. We fully support Drew and will keep collaborating with the NBA and local legal enforcement.
MONTY WILLIAMS REPLY: “An investigation will be conducted by the NBA.” I spoke with Stewart. He told me what had transpired. It would be a little careless of me to come here and make a statement, but our guys have spoken with him and they have information.
