NBA Power Rankings: Suns Top Ten Before All-Star Break
Prior to the 2024 NBA All-Star break, the Phoenix Suns were ranked in the top 10 of two NBA power rankings.
Phoenix: Although a close loss to the Golden State Warriors over the weekend ended the Phoenix Suns’ four-game winning streak going into this week, the team has recently regained their stride.
Nevertheless, the Suns’ record shows that they are generally healthy. Before the 2024 NBA All-Star break, Phoenix will take on the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons on Monday, January 31st, 22nd. Phoenix has won their previous 12 of 16 games.
Here’s where the Suns ranked in some early week NBA power rankings:
NBA.com: No. 9 (previously 9)
John Schuhmann: “The Suns remain very good, but not quite elite. They’ve had Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant in the lineup for 17 of their last 18 games (Booker missed a comfortable win over Utah on Thursday), and are 12-6 in that stretch.”
No. 6 (formerly 3) of The Ringer
Kevin O’Conner: “Despite having a depleted roster, the Suns performed admirably at the trade deadline, acquiring David Roddy and Royce O’Neale.” O’Neale plays strong defense, closeout offense, and spot-up shooting. Although his jumper has deserted him since graduating from college, Roddy is a versatile hustler on defense. Overall though, Phoenix was able to affordably renovate the areas surrounding its stars.”
