If Michael van Gerwen wins the Darts World Cup, he already knows what he will purchase: It’s a truck, not a Ferrari

Michael van Gerwen (34) is chasing his fourth world title in ‘Ally Pally’. The Dutchman qualified for the eighth finals on Wednesday evening and already has a striking motivation to once again be crowned the world’s best. Van Gerwen wants to expand its impressive fleet with… a truck.

If Michael van Gerwen wins the world darts championship for the fourth time next week, he won’t be getting a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or any other type of sports car. In an interview with “The Sun,” the Dutchman states, “Not my thing.” “I find Ferraris and other sports cars to be excessively small.” When I first rode in a Lamborghini, I wasn’t fond of it. Not a thing for me.

If Van Gerwen makes it to the finals of “Ally Pally,” he would like to reward himself with an even more spectacular present. In lieu of an opulent vehicle, the Dutchman intends to expand his collection with a truck. He further admitted to “The Sun” that “if I win, I’m going to treat myself to a truck.” However, it goes beyond simply indulging oneself. It all comes down to how well you do, taking home the trophy and enabling yourself to make those expenditures. Van Gerwen is set to receive a salary of 500,000 pounds, or 576,000 euros, should he repeat as world champion.

Not all of that money goes to the future world champion; a sizeable portion is left over after accounting for administration and taxes (about twenty percent).

Van Gerwen’s already excellent fleet would have a new addition with the potential arrival of a truck. ‘MVG’ mostly used family cars in his early career, but he didn’t fully let himself go until 2020, following his third and, as of right now, final world title, when he bought a 292,000 euro Rolls-Royce Ghost. He enjoyed flaunting his ultimate luxury vehicle on Instagram. “You only make this kind of purchase once in your life,” Van Gerwen told “Darts News.” “I’ve always wanted a Rolls Royce, but now I can cross that off my bucket list. It is really lovely, enjoyable, and cozy in my opinion.
