Mat Ishbia, Owner of the Suns, Would ‘Love’ an NFL Team
Owner of the Phoenix Suns Mat Ishbia would dearly love to acquire an NFL team—when the time is right, of course.
Phoenix: Owner of the Phoenix Suns Mat Ishbia says he hopes to purchase an NFL team in the future.
Ishbia recently disclosed on The Pat McAfee Show that he had made one prior attempt at it and failed.
“I would adore that. Ishbia stated, “I originally placed a bid on the Denver Broncos” (via Arizona Sports).
“I attempted to participate in that. It’s not one I understood. I’m more into the NBA than the WNBA. I love basketball. NFL is something I wouldn’t rule out, but NBA and WNBA I have a lot of learning ahead of me.
“I’ve met and know a lot of NFL owners,” he continued.
To be honest, this is the only thing I’ve discovered about sports. Owners of the NFL, NBA, and MLB have all excelled. They would greet me, have lunch with me, chat with me, and plan when I was attempting to acquire a team and learning about it. They were quite cool around me. They didn’t recognize me as anyone. Adam Silver and Roger Goodell have a deep passion for sports. It exceeded expectations in quality.
After taking over the Suns little over a year ago, Ishbia has significantly altered the Valley’s landscape both on and off the court.
