Marvin Harrison Jr. to New England Gives the Vikings a Franchise Quarterback in Will Helms’ 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is selected first overall by the Patriots in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, while the Vikings trade up to get one of the class’ best quarterbacks.

The 2024 NFL Draft season is ready to heat up with the opening of the NFL Scouting Combine this week. I’ll talk about a possibility this week that might have gained some traction last week.

The offensive coordinator for New England left the door open for the Patriots to start Mac Jones in 2024, which makes sense considering that I don’t think the roster is prepared for a rookie quarterback. What happens on draft day if Marvin Harrison Jr. gets chosen by the Patriots? In my NFL Mock Draft for 2024, I’ll examine the implications of that hypothetical situation.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: 1) Chicago Bears (via CAR): USC quarterback Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams is still not my favorite quarterback, but we have to presume that the Bears will select him first overall based on the news that has been leaked by the league. Williams can produce brilliant plays and thrives when out of phase. Chicago is becoming a more interesting club in the NFC by stealthily assembling strong personnel on defense and around the quarterback.

2) Washington Commanders: UNC QB Drake Maye.

Leaders in Washington: Drake Maye, quarterback, UNC
Drake Maye and his ability to perform well both inside and outside of the play call are winning me over more and more. Maye can pass deep accurately, and I believe he has a better floor than most in the business. If the Commanders are certain they want to choose a quarterback, Washington is a decent place to start.

3) Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State, New England Patriots
With Harrison’s fanfare in recent years, it’s difficult to locate another receiving potential. He has amazing body control, is large, and moves quickly. Harrison is in the same class of exceptional receiving prospects as Julio Jones or Amari Cooper, according to numerous analysts, and I agree with them.

Even with a replacement-level quarterback leading the offense, Harrison is a tremendous prospect who might provide value if New England decides not to start their rookie quarterback clock.

The Cardinals receive picks No. 13, No. 44, 2025 first round, and 2025 second round in exchange for the Raiders’ No. 4 pick. Las Vegas Raiders: Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

After Jayden Daniels slips past the Patriots, the Cardinals select the most widely anticipated mock draft pick (Jaden Daniels), therefore Arizona decides to fold and consider offers.

Depending on the results of free agency, I would anticipate that the Cardinals will make calls and try to get an additional pick or two from the Vikings, Broncos, Raiders, or possibly the Falcons in this situation. Daniels in a revamped Las Vegas offensive scheme could be explosive.

5) Terrion Arnold, cornerback, Alabama, Los Angeles Chargers
Although I didn’t intend for this to be an odd joke, this is the first time I’ve made fun of a defensive player.

Because this year’s receiving class is so strong, I’m curious whether any teams in need of receivers would pass on a first-round pass catcher in the knowledge that they’ll be able to get a game-changing player on Day 2 or even Day 3.
