Man United should sign Portuguese sensation Joao Neves, according to Bruno Fernandes.

In manager Erik ten Hag’s second season, Manchester United has been severely let down by an ever-growing injury list and lackluster performances from the team’s biggest players.

Casemiro was one of United’s best players last season; his arrival nearly single-handedly turned the team’s fortunes, ending their trophy drought and enabling them to finish third and earn a Champions League berth.

But in the current campaign, the Brazilian’s form appears to have deserted him as he has struggled to track runners and has often been caught out of position.

Casemiro’s difficulties this year
The midfield general has given up on his position far too frequently, but it appears that his legs are giving out and that he is concentrating more on his attacking side of the game, which has led to more goals.

Ten Hag is definitely feeling the loss of the injured former Real Madrid player, as loan signing Sofyan Amrabat finds it difficult to step in.

Casemiro has performed so poorly that, after just one and a half seasons in Manchester, he is rumored to be leaving, with Saudi Arabia being one of his possible destinations.

After a one-on-one meeting to try to understand the player’s situation, the manager is not expected to let go of the 31-year-old in the middle of the season.

The future of the Brazil international is uncertain, though, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to become a minority stakeholder shortly. The chairman of INEOS is rumored to be dissatisfied with United’s costly acquisition of the five-time Champions League winner.

Although several midfielders have recently been linked to United, Joao Neves, the rising star of Benfica, appears to be the player of the month as United scouts watch him play regularly.

It’s understandable why he’s in such high demand. The 19-year-old is a fixture for Benfica, having made 18 appearances in all competitions, with one goal and one assist.

Ten Hag is a big fan of the Portugal international, who primarily fills the role of defensive midfielder but is also capable of playing further forward and, in an emergency, out wide.

Joao Neves would be welcome to accompany Bruno at OT.
When questioned about the teenage sensation, United captain Bruno Fernandes stated that he would love for his countryman to play with him at Old Trafford.

“He is very good, and I would love to have him at United! That’s João’s decision, though. Though it depends on the coach’s ideas, he’s a great player!

Sport TV cited Fernandes as saying, “He will have a great future, in United or somewhere else” (via Fabrizio Romano).

Neves’ current contract keeps him at Benfica until 2028, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value is €20 million. A massive offer is necessary to entice him to leave Estádio da Luz.
