Mac McClung’s flawless response to Lou Williams’ trap question on Jaylen Brown on Dunk Contest

At All-Star Weekend, there were many different viewpoints regarding the 2024 Dunk Contest. While some people had fun in the Dunk Contest, others did not. The question of whether Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown ought to have advanced to the championship round was at the center of some of the dispute. When Mac McClung, the reigning champion of dunks, recently appeared on FanDuel TV, former NBA player Lou Williams attempted to persuade him that Brown shouldn’t have made it to the championship round. Instead of saying something provocative, McClung ultimately chose to walk the high road.

“Let’s be honest, Jaylen Brown wasn’t supposed to be in that final with you,” Williams said to Mac McClung. What do you think of that? Did you feel that any of the other guys deserved it more? How did it go for you?

In response, McClung said, “I find it difficult to judge other people’s opinions.” It is not for me to judge the other males. It was difficult…Although Jaylen Brown is receiving a lot of criticism, I felt he had some impressive dunks as well.

McClung said that he wouldn’t critique anyone and that the 360 windmill isn’t as easy as it seems, in response to Williams asking him to specify which of Brown’s dunks he thought was good.
