The World Championship competitor Luke Littler continued to deny Luke Humphries a point on Thursday night in Premier League Darts.
After losing to Luke Littler, 17, on the second night of the Premier League Darts, Luke Humphries has threatened to “get him.” After losing to Littler in the World Championship final, Humphries has had trouble overcoming the darts phenomenon.
On Thursday night, Littler defeated Humphries 6-5 in the Berlin semifinal. It was his third triumph over his opponent from the World Championship in as many meetings following their matchup at Alexandra Palace.
Humphries, who was born in Leeds, was upset that Littler had defeated him once again. He forewarned the young man that he would eventually exact revenge.
“I will succeed in capturing him.” The 28-year-old exclaimed to the cameras, “I’m going to get him again!” as he left the Mercedes-Benz arena in Berlin.
Premier League Darts’ second night was an unprecedented occasion. Littler’s journey to the final, when he was defeated by Michael van Gerwen, contributed to shattering the record for the most legs played in a single night of competition during the best-of-11 format.
Out of a potential 77 legs, 75 were played in total. Rotterdam in 2022 was the last high. Five matches in a row, including Van Gerwen’s victory over Littler, finished with scores of 6-5.
Van Gerwen defeated Nathan Aspinall in the quarterfinals, while Luke Humphries defeated Peter Wright. Both matches resulted in 6-4 finishes. It demonstrated the exceptional caliber of the eight participants.
