The World Grand Prix of pool in 2023–2024 will take place in the Morningside Arena in Leicester instead of Alexandra Palace in London. After defeating Judd Trump 10-9 in a thrilling championship match the previous year, Mark Allen is hoping to retain his title in the East Midlands. World No. 1 Ronnie O’Sullivan is also in action among a host of famous players, including Mark Selby, Barry Hawkins, Mark Williams and Ding Junhui.
The top 16 finishers advance to the Players Championship, while 12 players move on to compete in the Tour Championship later in the season.
The World Snooker Tour is set to go from London to Leicester for the World Grand Prix event at the Morningside Arena.
It is a tournament comprising the top 32 players on the one-year ranking list, and is one of three events that form part of the Players Series.
After defeating Judd Trump in a thrilling 10-9 victory the previous year, Mark Allen will be looking to retain his title, and Ronnie O’Sullivan is attempting to win the competition four times.
The action starts in Leicester only one day after the Masters concludes on January 14.
