Mark Selby put on a clumsy performance that Judd Trump took advantage of to cruise into the World Grand Prix semifinals.
This season, Trump has been incredibly successful, and he is focused on winning the campaign’s fourth ranking crown.
The world No. 2 gave a strong effort, but Selby missed several excellent opportunities to gain momentum in the match, which benefited the other player.
Trump is now two victories away from adding to his victories at the English Open, Wuhan Open, and Northern Ireland Open after winning 5-1.
Selby was given a chance by a mistake made by Trump in the first round, but he was only able to hit 24 before collapsing.

Trump scored his first century of the week and 56th of the season after pressuring Selby into a mistake, giving the team a 4-0 lead at halftime.
Selby took advantage of the intermission to reorganize. When Trump left a black in the mouth of the bottom right, the Morningside Arena crowd erupted in cheers, and he answered with a break of 100 to avert the whitewash.
It turned out to be only a temporary reversal of course, as Trump capitalized on a mistake in the sixth to make 69 and defeat Selby for the tenth time in his career.
Cao Yupeng, who defeated Mark Williams 5–4, will face Judd Trump in the semifinals.
Williams led 3-0 and 4-2 and controlled the game.
