John Stockton Did Not Want Any Part of a Michael Jordan ‘Puff Piece” but Took No Issue Telling a Fake Story Glorifying Larry Bird
While John Stockton had no problem telling a fake story that glorified Larry Bird, he did not want to be a part of a Michael Jordan “puff piece.”
John Stockton, the legendary player for the Utah Jazz, was hesitant to participate in the 10-part documentary about Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls dynasty that director Jason Hehir was planning.
The Hall of Fame point guard raised doubts about another series supporting Michael Jordan’s legendary reputation, despite the fact that he and the Bulls grew to respect each other over their many games over the years. Stockton’s mistrust may not sound particularly odd at first glance. After all, the Last Dance had a major role in turning Scottie Pippen’s story into a vengeful memory.
For years, Jason Hehir attempted to locate John Stockton in order to obtain his voice for the Last Dance. But when he did get through to the former Jazz player, the all-time assist leader gave a remark that probably wasn’t to Hehir’s liking.
