The Boston Celtics lost 108-105 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night despite blowing yet another large lead to the New York Knicks. Jayson Tatum told the media, “I think it’s tough, but now we need to regroup.”
Remembering those years when we were heading to the conference finals makes you truly cherish those times, Tatum said. “It’s difficult.”
It’s difficult, and I believe that in the beginning—probably during my rookie year—I took winning all of those games and playoff games for granted and assumed that was the norm. But in order to savor those moments, events like these occur, and in my opinion, it helps you appreciate victory even more because you realize how difficult it is to succeed.

Aside from structural problems, the team’s greatest problem has been a decreasing sense of urgency in the second half of games, which has cost the Celtics more games than they should have won.
And while acknowledging a problem is only the first step toward solving one, the team has benefited from realizing how difficult it is to win consistently over the course of an 82-game season.
