Jayson Tatum of the Celtics will receive Kendrick Perkins’ MVP vote.
Star player Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is in the mix for MVP at the All-Star break for the second straight year.
On Thursday’s “First Take,” ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith expressed his support for the Boston center, and his colleague Kendrick Perkins told Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston that he too.
Perkins informed Forsberg, “Yeah, I’m voting for Jayson Tatum.” “The best player with the best record, based on my criteria, if the season ended today.” That’s what he’s doing. People are unaware of the costs Tatum had to bear.
“At the moment, he’s averaging right around 27 points a game, eight and a half rebounds,” Perkins continued. That is a monstrosity. Furthermore, he’s making 55 percent of his two-point field goals or almost so.
With a six-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics have the best record in the league (43-12).
“Look, I think the Celtics will finish with the best record in the league and the number one seed overall,” Perkins stated. “I’m voting for Tatum.”
The 2008 NBA champion made a passionate plea because of his turbulent connection with Celtics fans in previous years.
“I adore every Boston supporter,” Perkins exclaimed. “Look, please stop making fun of me. You are aware of my true feelings. I cherish you all.
