In response to questions from the media on his inaccuracies during games, Jayson Tatum said, “The game is never perfect”
Tatum responded that it will all depend on how he plays in the upcoming games when questioned about his own patchy efforts.

In response to some of his detractors, Jayson Tatum discussed how he handles criticism of his play, particularly on bad shooting nights.

Tatum addresses the detractors

The Boston Celtics player, fresh off an away victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, attended his customary post-game conference. He was questioned in the interview about how he overcame playing through slumps and how his recent performances have not been at the MVP level he was before the All-Star break.

As I always tell you guys, it’s all about how you respond. In wins, we usually just respond, but in losses, we sometimes let it snowball and it can be difficult to overcome,” Tatum said to the interviewers. “The game is never perfect because it’s the NBA. They can make shots and runs.

Tatum has been under scrutiny following a run of poor shooting nights; he is only 28.3% from the field and even had a very agonizing 0% from three against the Timberwolves. Tatum has yet managed to average 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists per game; the Celtics were able to achieve 4.

Being assertive pays dividends.
During the press conference, Tatum received praise for his ability to get to the free throw line frequently and start his offense early in the game.

“Just being aggressive, I got a couple of steals, got out in transition and it just kinda got me going early.”

The Celtics’ tendency to be cautious and careless in the first minute, which gives the opposition a big lead, or to slow down in the second half, which causes them to blow big leads, is one of their weaknesses. However, as Tatum pointed out, if they go off to an aggressive start, they can grab a few steals and take control of the game right away.

Celtics, are you ready for the playoffs?
The Celtics have won five of their previous ten games and are currently ranked second in the Eastern Conference. The majority of these losses are the result of meltdowns that were easily avoidable. However, they have been able to control leads from the outset in their previous few games and even prevent elite players from giving their all.

The Celtics might have a successful regular season finale if Tatum can regain his shooting form and carry on with the strategies that have brought them their most recent victories.
