The injury list is “the biggest puzzle,” according to Rangers manager Philippe Clement.

After John Souttar and Nico Raskin were the most recent players to be ruled out, Rangers manager Philippe Clement revealed that the team is working to address their ongoing injury problems.

Another two players were ruled out, and Philippe Clement says the Rangers’ ongoing injury problems are “the biggest puzzle”.

Since taking over for Michael Beale earlier this month, Clement has been without a number of players. The most recent addition to the long list is midfielder Nico Raskin, who was substituted during Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Hearts.

Due to a “muscle problem”, Dundee’s defender John Souttar will also miss Wednesday night’s Scottish Premiership game.

The Belgian did then concede that he was perplexed by their ongoing problems.

“With all the injuries, it’s quite the puzzle—the largest puzzle I’ve ever seen, to be honest.

“We had a large number of unavailable players at first, and in the last few weeks, some players fell out.

“It will be critical to monitor each player’s minutes closely and work to improve their stamina and physical health so that, in the coming months, a larger roster will be available.

Danilo celebrates scoring a header in injury time to give Rangers the advantage over Hearts.
“He [Danilo] is ready to play but we will see what is important in this game and if it is necessary that he starts or that he comes in.”

“It depends on the opposition, but it makes sense that he won’t be prepared in 90 minutes.

“It is never short-term work, it is a long-term project, creating players ready for 90 minutes every three days for months.”
