Given Wilt Chamberlain was more dominant in his peak, why is Michael Jordan the greatest of all time?
Simple, the younger generation never got to see those players play. If they had, they would have seen some of the greatest players to ever play the game, and that’s why they (Wilt) still hold over 60 NBA records today.
Some have said he played in a “crappy” era, but I would digress that Wilt played against the best centers the NBA has EVER offered, as most of those players are now in the HOF themselves. If you wish to argue the facts, I would also suggest that you do some research on the matter instead of just posting a single sentence. While I do think that MJ was the best 2 guard to ever play, Wilt is BY FAR the GOAT in my opinion.
MJ took a different action than the others. He went beyond the game and rose to prominence around the world, inspiring people’s imaginations and wallets like no one before him. He is supported by a multitude of people, including Wilt, Oscar Robinson, Magic, Bird, and many more. It wouldn’t exist without them, MJ. I believe that the GOAT discussion is largely pointless. It takes our attention away from the talent that is in front of us. Both the new and the old players are my favorites. After you have had your fill of excellence, leave space for the coming generation.
