The girlfriend of Ronald O’Sullivan has revealed how “soul-destroying” it was to witness him experience emotional swings.

The legendary snooker player has spoken up about his lifelong battles with mental illness in the new documentary Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything.

In another scenario, O’Sullivan and his longtime partner Laila Rouass sat down following O’Sullivan’s 6-4 defeat to Neil Robertson in the Masters in 2022.

“I want you to do what makes you happy,” she stated.

“I’m not telling you to quit or to keep going. That is not the kind of predicament I would ever put you in.

“I don’t mind at all. All I can think of is management. There’s a lot of self-criticism and alone time to reflect involved.”

“But I think I am much more comfortable with it now than I have ever been,” O’Sullivan shot back.

“Why would I quit now that I’m more at ease with it if I didn’t stop before, when I was very uncomfortable? In a way, it seems like I’ve conquered my demons.”

“I think that’s your mood today,” Rouass continued. when viewed from a romantic perspective.

However, the truth is that witnessing someone go through that emotionally is difficult.
