Devin Booker Responds to Olympic Speculation in Three Words.
Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns is prepared to play for his nation once more.
Suns of Phoenix SG Olympic basketball is nothing new to Devin Booker, who competed for Team USA in 2020 and won a record-tying four gold medals in Japan.
Booker averaged 20.7 minutes, 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 42.2% from the field, 33.3% from 3-point range, and 92.8% from the foul line (13–14). Booker also started five of the six games, according to the official Team USA website.
With an even more refined skill set, Booker may be suiting up for the red, white, and blue once more.
Following Team USA’s failure to medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Americans have been clamoring for their local talents to represent their nation in the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris.
NBA forward Kyle Kuzma stated on Twitter/X: “It’s time for USA basketball to find some players who can actually play a part. Anyone can play good when they have the ball in their hands, but are you willing to defend and play a few possessions in the corner?
This is consistent with the numerous rumors stating that talents from all around the league are anticipated to team up for what would be the United States’ sixth consecutive gold:
LeBron James is the all-time leading scorer in the NBA, a three-time Olympian, a two-time gold medalist, and he is so keen to participate in another Olympics that he is prepared to commit for next summer. He has also reportedly called a number of athletes to essentially recruit them to join him with USAB in Paris, multiple league sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
James has also had conversations with Draymond Green, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry, all of whom are willing to commit. According to league insiders, Devin Booker of Phoenix, Damian Lillard of Portland, De’Aaron Fox of Sacramento, and Kyrie Irving of Dallas are also very interested in committing.”
