Jeff Van Gundy joins the Boston Celtics coaching team with more than 20 years of experience.

With the best record in the NBA going into All-Star weekend, it is the Boston Celtics. Jeff Van Gundy, a senior consultant who joined the Celtics coaching staff in October, was recently discussed by Brad Stevens.

According to Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston, Stevens feels that the club has gained from having Van Gundy.

“This individual acts like an entry-level intern, while having a wealth of knowledge and expertise. He is the most modest person you have ever met and is friendly to everyone.

Van Gundy was the head coach of the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks in the past. The 62-year-old has an NBA head coaching record of 430-318 throughout his 11 seasons in that role. In 2000, he was chosen to coach in the NBA All-Star Game.
