The Celtics’ newest player shares an open assessment on the team’s culture.

Xavier Tillman was dealt by the Memphis Grizzlies to the Boston Celtics on February 7. A little more than a month later, Tillman is enjoying the change of environment.

When questioned about the culture of the Boston Celtics, Xavier Tillman gave a positive assessment of what he has observed from the group.

Tillman remarked, “This is a great place because it keeps basketball basketball and doesn’t make it your identity, so people are allowed to feel all the emotions.” “But no one is taking it home or staying on it at the same time. The next day, you can see that everyone is well and that everyone just feels terrific. But thinking back on previous performances and other things.”

Some have interpreted Tillman’s comments as a shot at the Memphis Grizzlies because they’re the only other team he’s played for in his career. However, Tillman doesn’t quite strike as the type of person who would bad-mouth his former team. If anything, he may have just been answering a question about his current team, and the way the clip came off suggested that he was unhappy with his former team. Either way, he’s now on the best team in the NBA, and it’s pretty easy to see why he’d be happy to be there.

The Memphis Grizzlies face off against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight.
