The Celtics Brad Stevens: ‘Being Good Is Really Fragile’ in reference to Porziņģis Moves, Holiday.
Given that they advanced to the NBA Finals in 2022 and the Eastern Conference Finals in 2023, it would have been simple for the Boston Celtics to just run things back in 2023–2024, but president of basketball operations Brad Stevens had other ideas.
This past offseason, Boston added Jrue Holiday and Kristaps PorziņĢis to bolster a group that was already among the best in the NBA.
Regarding the movements, Stevens stated, “I think we’re always evaluating how we can get better, because I think if you’re not trying to get better, you’re probably going to get caught,” as reported by Heavy’s Steve Bulpett. “In addition, we weren’t in the position we desired to be in terms of being a championship or Finals club. Thus, being apprehended is simply anything that.
He went on to say that being one of the top clubs in the league is not a given.
According to Stevens, “being good is really fragile.” Goodness is incredibly difficult. Furthermore, nothing is certain, so you must constantly search for methods to get better. That’s usually limited to within the walls; adjust the offensive, adjust the defense, or whatever. However, chances do arise occasionally; all you need to do is be prepared.”
So far this season, everything has definitely gone well.
Thanks in large part to the two acquisitions, the Celtics boast a stacked roster with one of the finest players in the league in Tatum leading the way.
Having made it to five of the previous seven Eastern Conference Finals but failing to win a Larry O’Brien Trophy each time, they will now try to advance farther in the postseason.
