The Boston Bruins are leading the NHL standings this season after losing a number of important players during the 2023 NHL Offseason. They are therefore anticipated to be purchasers during the NHL Trade Deadline in 2024.
The Athletic just released a piece analyzing which player or draft pick each team is most likely to trade, as the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline draws near. The Bruins selected rookie forward Johnny Beecher, according to Fluto Shinzawa’s list.
Regarding the possibility of Beecher being traded, Shinzawa noted this: “The Bruins do not pick until the fourth round in 2024.” Their two best prospects, Mason Lohrei and Fabian Lysell, are ones they would be reluctant to part with. Beecher was the No. 4 center at the beginning of the season, but the AHL has since claimed him. The 22-year-old might be viewed as having a bigger offensive ceiling by another team. The 6-foot-3, 216-pound man’s stature, speed, and reach are undeniable.”
With the Bruins this season, Beecher’s NHL career has gotten off to a respectable start, with five goals and seven points in 39 games. Despite his lack of scoring prowess, he was a steady 4C for the Bruins prior to his demotion to the AHL. In four games since returning to the Providence Bruins, he has scored a goal.
Given the Bruins’ small pool of prospects and draft choices, Beecher might be a player they trade for someone who can provide instant assistance to the team. That so, there is a little danger involved because he is among the Bruins’ best center prospects, which puts the team in a vulnerable position.
