The Bruins’ greatest and worst moments in 2024
There have been fantastic times for the Boston Bruins as well as those things we wish had never happened. Regarding how each Bruin performed this season and how the year turned out in the end, everyone will have a different perspective.
But let’s reflect on a few of the Bruins’ successful and unsuccessful seasons in 2020 in the spirit of the year’s finish.
It’s undeniable that the Bruins were playing well when the season ended in March. They had 20 victories and 9 losses in the home stretch of the regular season. They finished the season with 100 points and were awarded the Presidents’ Trophy. Whether or whether the season results in a Stanley Cup, that’s a tremendous accomplishment (albeit prior to COVID-19 taking over, it seemed like the Bruins would be a strong contender for some hardware).
Throughout the season, Patrice Bergeron’s line truly stood out. Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, and Bergeron combined for 238 points throughout the regular season. In the short season, Pastrnak had 95 points (48 goals and 47 assists)—career-high totals. Marchand finished the regular season with a 13-game point streak, good for 87 points. Not to be discounted are Bergeron’s 56 points, as the center is still among the league’s top two-way players.
