Bruins Adjust Their Defense Lineup
The Boston Bruins are changing up their starting lineup before of their home game against the Seattle Kraken after suffering back-to-back losses and only managing one victory in their previous four outings.
As they attempt to rally for a victory, the Bruins now only have a two-point advantage over the Florida Panthers in both their division and conference. Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk exits the lineup, and Parker Wotherspoon returns.
Wotherspoon was on the bench for the Bruins’ 3-0 loss to the Washington Capitals, but he did not participate in the team’s earlier loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This season, he has only appeared in 22 of the team’s 53 games. Derek Forbort will probably be teamed with him in the third pairing.
Wotherspoon has only played 34 games in his career, including this season and last, making him a relatively new player in the NHL. The 26-year-old will earn time on the penalty kill because of his strong defensive mindset. It seems logical to give Shattenkirk another try in the starting lineup because he played less than 13:30 against the Lightning.
