Breaking news:Saints QB Derek Carr (concussion, rib, right shoulder) listed as questionable vs. Panthers……
Derek Carr, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers despite having practiced fully on Friday.
Carr was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to a concussion, rib and right shoulder injuries. To be cleared to play, the quarterback must still go through the concussion protocol.
Carr suffered a devastating blow as he left the Week 13 loss to Detroit. This season, it was his third injury-related withdrawal from a game; the other two were related to concussion protocol. However, as of 2023, Carr has not missed a game.
Jameis Winston might get his season debut if Carr is unable to pass the protocol.
Taysom Hill, the quarterback, tight end, and all-around guy for the Saints, has injuries to his left foot and hand. Hill has missed practice all week, so his status for Sunday’s match is listed as questionable. Dennis Allen, the head coach, stated on Friday that Hill’s availability is more hampered by the foot injury than by the hand problem.
Running back Kendre Miller (ankle) and defensive end Isaiah Foskey (quad) were listed as outs on the team’s injury report elsewhere. Chris Olave, the receiver (illness), DE LB Pete Werner (shoulder/oblique), WR Rashid Shaheed (thigh), tight end Juwan Johnson (quad), and G Cam Jordan (ankle). Kicker Blake Grupe (groin) and defensive end Nick Saldiveri (shoulder) are both marked as questionable.
Riding a three-game losing streak, New Orleans (5-7) will require perseverance in order to stay afloat in the NFC South.
