Breaking News;NBA Fantasy: 6 waiver wire targets ahead of Week 8…..

Before the NBA season enters its eighth week, RotoWire ranks the top six players to take into account on the waiver wire.

The In-Season Tournament made for a light week, but Week 8 features a packed schedule of NBA games. There will be three or four games for each team. Consider adding the players below, who are still available in most Yahoo leagues, if you’re searching the waiver wire for reinforcements.

Miami Heat’s Duncan Robinson (52% available)

Robinson appears to have changed the course of his career. He received more playing time during the previous season’s playoffs from the Heat due to injuries, and he produced some strong shooting performances. This season, numerous players have missed games due to similar circumstances. Robinson has been playing 30 minutes a game as a result.

Robinson is shooting 43.6 percent from beyond the arc, demonstrating his mastery of the long ball. He now averages 15.0 points and 3.1 three-pointers per game as a result of this. He has a career-high 2.9 assists per game, which has been a welcome surprise. Even if Tyler Herro (ankle) does make a comeback, Robinson has most likely committed to a big role.

Utah Jazz’s Keyonte George (56% available)

George has already received the keys from the Jazz. He played in the second unit to start the season, but in the last 13 games, he has started every one of them. In his new position, he averages 30 minutes per game, so he’s not just a token starter either.

George has been able to contribute 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.7 three-pointers per game as a starter since he has been playing more. How come a player with that kind of production is still available on waivers? His season 3-point percentage of 33.8 percent from the field has been the issue. Because of this, he is difficult to roster in category leagues. George is a useful player to add off waivers, though, if you play in a points league or are desperate for assists.

Phoenix Suns’ Eric Gordon (57% available)

Gordon has played 32 minutes a night for the Suns in need of a player. Even though his statistics haven’t been particularly impressive, his averages of 14.3 points, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.8 three-pointers are still respectable. In fact, his field goal percentage is 46.8%. Week 8 of the Suns schedule includes four games, so Gordon should play enough to warrant a roster spot.

Chicago Bulls’ Alex Caruso (60% available)

Zach LaVine (foot) has missed every game of the Bulls’ current three-game winning streak. The Bulls probably don’t want to play Caruso a lot of minutes even with LaVine sidelined because he has battled his own toe injury.

He can still play for about 30 minutes each night, though. During the season, he has averaged 1.7 three-pointers and 1.3 steals in just 24 minutes per game. For the Bulls’ four-game week, those in need of steals and three-pointers might want to consider adding Caruso, though don’t expect him to contribute much else.

Miami Heat’s Caleb Martin (77% available)

Martin was forced to miss ten straight games for the Heat due to a knee injury. The Heat gradually introduced him back into the lineup, allowing him to play an average of 18 minutes per game in his first five appearances.

Martin has played 30 minutes per game on average over the past five. During that time, he made the most of his newfound prominence, averaging 18.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 three-pointers. Herro’s absence has helped him, but considering he played 29 minutes a game the previous season, his increased playing time may endure. Martin is a very tempting addition to players who play in deeper formats.

Dallas Mavericks’ Derrick Jones Jr. (86% available)

Since joining the league in the 2016–17 season, Jones has played for five different teams, including the Mavericks. Despite playing an average of 18 and 14 minutes per game for the Bulls the past two seasons, he has never had an overly prominent role. During his first 16 games of the season, Jones averaged 22 minutes of play for the Mavericks, playing a little bit more than that.

Given that Jones has played an average of 31 minutes per game over the past four games due to injuries, it is worthwhile to consider adding him. He made the most of the chance, finishing each game with 16.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steal, and 3.3 three-pointers. Given that Josh Green’s (elbow) expected to miss several weeks, Jones can continue in this expanded role.
