After losing in Philadelphia, the Cowboys have won four straight games. The Eagles recently suffered their worst defeat of the year. However, the stories for both teams in the NFC East that are vying for first place are identical. What the staff writers thought of Sunday’s game against the Eagles is shown here.
Patrik Walker: The Cowboys, who have won six of their previous seven games, will be motivated to exact revenge on the Eagles, who they have lost to just once in that run of games. With the 49ers coming up against a [finally] rested Dallas team that is also riding a 14-game winning streak at home, Philly is battered and bruised from their brutal blowout loss. Given the talent surrounding Jalen Hurts, the Cowboys perform just as well. However, the Eagles’ secondary is unlikely to succeed against Dak Prescott and company, and in the end, I believe the Cowboys’ home offense will be the main factor in this victory and propel them to the top of the NFC East. 35–24, Cowboys.
Nick Eatman: Notwithstanding what transpired in Philadelphia last Sunday, the Eagles remain every bit of the elite team that the Cowboys need to demonstrate their ability to be. In addition, the Cowboys must win this game in order to have any chance of winning the NFC East; even if they do, it will be difficult. For Dallas, then, the degree of desperation should be high. Similarly, the 49ers mistreated the Eagles, a fact that the Cowboys are also aware of. The key question is how they react. The Cowboys were embarrassed by San Francisco, but they retaliated with a hard-fought victory over the Chargers. Could the Eagles follow suit? For myself, I believe it will be.
Nick Harris: Simply put, I think the Cowboys are overdue for a dismal offensive performance. Since it’s just a gut feeling, I can’t really explain why I think that way, but I think the defense will successfully address the challenge. Although I still believe Dak Prescott plays an effective game, I find it difficult to have faith in his running game. On defense, I believe the Cowboys’ pass rush will pick up speed and force some errors. The Cowboys, 23-20, please.
Kyle Youmans: I said early in the season that it would be difficult for either of these two teams to complete a sweep because they are so evenly matched. That’s how I feel once more today. Philadelphia won the first encounter thanks to a few fortunate bounces and well-executed plays. Those same breaks almost certainly won’t bounce exclusively in the Eagles’ favor, especially with home-field advantage for the Cowboys. From the first kickoff to the last siren, the game will remain close. resulting in a thrilling game with lots of memorable moments. However, none will be more unforgettable than the Cowboys winning 31–27 and leaving the field in triumph.
