According to reports, Brenden Aaronson will return to Elland Road in 2019 following a terrible loan stint in Germany.
In the summer, the American midfielder concluded a promising loan to Union Berlin of the Bundesliga, where the team was getting ready for its inaugural Champions League campaign.
However, Aaronson did not leave a lasting impression in Germany as he started just one match for his new team in Europe—a 1-0 loss to Napoli on the road.
Union Berlin is currently out of the competition after placing last in their group, so focus is on the Bundesliga, where they are in 15th place, just barely above the relegation zone.
