Terrance Gibbs, a great in-state running back, commits to the Florida Gators, completing Florida’s current recruiting class..
Terrance Gibbs, a running back from Winter Park, Florida, has officially committed to the Florida Gators after three summer campus visits. Gibbs also unofficially toured UF on June 1, the first day in-person recruiting was permitted in almost 15 months due to the coronavirus outbreak, before his official visit on the weekend of June 18. After his initial visit, Gibbs revealed that Florida was still the top school he was recruiting from. On July 30, Gibbs also attended UF’s Friday Night Lights Camp. The 6-foot, 190-pound rushing back from the Orlando region is a powerful rusher who has a talent for making opponents miss both elusively with his quick feet and remarkable acceleration and physically by shattering tackles.
During a Winter Park practice in August 2020, Gibbs had a serious knee injury that was declared to be season-ending. The knee is doing “a lot, lot better,” according to Gibbs earlier in June. Gibbs is the first running back since Nay’Quan Wright’s November 2018 vow to attend Florida after high school. Given that seniors Dameon Pierce and Malik Davis are anticipated to graduate following the current season, Knox has informed prospective players that he plans to select two players at his position in the class of 2022.
