One of the Celtics’ top players won’t be available for the matchup since 2018 NBA All-Star Kristaps Porzingis is absent.

Kristaps Porzingis (contraction to right knee) is out.

Having participated in 27 games, Porzingis has averaged 19.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 53.3% from the field and 32.6% from three-point range per game.

With a 28-8 record through 36 games, the Celtics hold the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

They have lost their previous 10 games 5-5, most recently by a score of 133-131 against the Indiana Pacers.

Despite shooting 6/13 from the field and 1/4 from three-point range, Porzingis finished with 19 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks in 38 minutes of action.

Following the Timberwolves, the Celtics will visit Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday evening.

They have played 19 games on the road and are 11-8 there, while they are undefeated at home.

With a 26-10 record after 36 games, the Timberwolves hold the top seed in the Western Conference.
