When the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat play on Sunday afternoon, they will write a new chapter in their recent rivalry. Miami has defeated Boston in two of the last four Eastern Conference Finals that the Heat and Celtics have squared off in. Here are a few of our top player prop picks for Sunday’s action, along with the odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.
Over 4.5 assists, Derrick White (+130)
It is a little odd to see this line at plus money considering the Celtics guard has covered this spread in four of the previous five games. White finished the latest game between Boston and Miami with six assists, giving him an average of 4.8 assists per game for the season. While their defense is strong, the Heat are ranked 18th in terms of opponent assists allowed. Sunday, I think White should receive at least five dimes.
Under 10.5 rebounds, Bam Adebayo (-120)
With an average of 10.5 rebounds per game this season, the All-Star center has been a formidable presence on the glass. He hasn’t exactly been successful in this area when facing the Celtics, though. In the two of their season matchups with Boston thus far, Adebayo has pulled down seven rebounds and five rebounds, respectively. He ought to have a good time, but expect him to cross this boundary.
Over 12.5 points, Jrue Holiday (-110)
Over 12.5 points, Jrue Holiday (-110)
In his debut season with the Celtics, Holiday’s scoring production has fluctuated, but he has performed well against the Heat. The guard should have no trouble surpassing this line on Sunday afternoon at South Beach because he has scored 17 points in each of his two outings versus Miami. Over the past ten games, Holiday has averaged 14.2 points per game on 54/52/90 shooting splits.
Tyler Herro with 114 points under 2.5 3-pointers
Herro is making good deep shots; in the last 15 games, he has made 40.2% of his triples. It would seem strange to take the under on this prop on Sunday given that the Heat guard has crossed this threshold ten times in that period. On the other hand, in terms of opponent three-point percentage, the Celtics rank seventh. Herro has a difficult opponent, and even with his superior aim, I think he will miss this target.
