APPOINTED MATCH OFFICIALS FOR BLACKBURN ROVERS…

The match officials for Leeds United’s Saturday encounter against Blackburn Rovers have been announced, with Matthew Donohue slated to serve as the referee.

The official, who was promoted to the Select Group 2 list of referees ahead of the 2019–20 season, was born in Southend and is currently based in Greater Manchester. This is his fifth season officiating in the second tier.

He will be in charge of a Leeds United game for the second time this Saturday. The first time he did so was during the Elland Road 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion in August, when he issued four warnings to Whites players.

Donohue has officiated Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town on 14 occasions, sharing the record for most EFL refereeings. He has also overseen six.

On November 29, Donohue officiated his final game, which was Huddersfield’s 2-1 victory away at Sunderland.
