The official start of the Phoenix Suns’ “Big Three” era has been delayed until sometime in 2024 after it was confirmed on Monday that Bradley Beal will miss at least the next two weeks.
Shooting guard Bradley Beal, a possible and deserving Chris Paul successor, moved to Phoenix to play for the Suns. Beal was considered a prime option to replace the veteran point guard who left to play for the Warriors. He is also a far better investment at thirty years of age for the future. Bradley, however, hasn’t been fortunate when it comes to injuries; he just sustained a lower back strain, which will prevent him from moving for at least three more weeks. In an official statement, the Phoenix Suns provide an explanation for why Bradley Beal is missing so many more games. Suns supporters haven’t been able to witness all three All-Stars playing together this season. Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Beal are those.
The Phoenix Suns provided an explanation for their estimate of three weeks as a possible timeline for Bradley Beal’s return to action in a brief statement that was posted on their X account. Fans of the Suns, who are frustrated with the circumstances and how many games Beal has already missed, had various opinions to the news. Beal is not alone, though, as there have been other injury absences this season. With only Kevin Durant holding the fort at this point in the season due to injuries, the Suns are currently having a difficult time. Devin Booker has also missed a number of games due to different injury issues.
What impact have injuries had on the Suns?
The team’s 5-6 record thus far this season is a clear indication of the immediate impact these injuries have had. Kevin Durant has an amazing 30.1 points per game average; without it, the Suns would not have won those five games. However, because of how much time he has been playing for the Suns, he also runs the risk of getting hurt. Durant has already played 36.6 minutes per game on average. The good news for the Suns is that Booker scored 31 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves after recovering from a calf ailment. Tonight, they take face the Utah Jazz in the In-Season Tournament once more.
