Four Leeds United players will square off in a tense of 90-minute…
Following the announcement that Wales will play Finland in a one-leg UEFA Nations League play-off semi-final, four members of Leeds United’s first team will square off against one another during the upcoming international break in March.
Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, and Daniel James, the Welsh international trio, will play Finland under Glen Kamara in an attempt to earn a spot in the Nations League and advance to the European Championships in Germany the following summer.
The game, which is scheduled for March 21, will take place at Cardiff City Stadium. Earlier this week, Wales and Turkey drew 1-1, ending any chance of Wales earning automatic qualification for the tournament as Croatia secured the second spot in Group D.
Head coach Rob Page’s team will play host to Poland or Estonia on March 26 at the home of Leeds’ Championship rivals Cardiff City, in a single-leg matchup that will determine who advances to Euro 2024.
Wales’s opponent against Finland is expected to face Poland in order to secure a spot at the European Championship, as Estonia’s record in Euro qualifying this time around consisted of one draw and seven losses in eight games.
With six wins, four draws, and two losses, Finland placed third in Group H and just missed automatic qualification. Wales, who were also in third place in their pool, had three wins, three draws, and two losses.
