LeBron James Responds To The Funny Larry Bird Story:

“Larry Legend Was A Truly Incredible Being! I adore his game so much! IQ was insane, and the passion for simply playing and winning basketball was unmatched.”

The NBA community learned about Nolan Richardson’s incredible story on Thursday. It told of how, upon learning about Larry Bird for the first time, he thought the young athlete was a black player and was amazed by how good he was. During his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, famous basketball coach Richardson paid a moving tribute to Larry Bird.

“A game is playing in my ears. Indiana State versus New Mexico State. No idea who the players are. This name keeps showing up… “Bird, to the right!” Bird makes the shot! “Goddamn who is Bird?” I exclaimed.Have you noticed Bird’s pass? I had to picture it because I couldn’t see it.I thought to myself, “Damn, that brother can play,” when I arrived at the arena. Let me tell you something, Richardson remarked in 2014, “I said, ‘Damn,’ when I saw Larry’s picture in the newspaper the next morning.”

That video resurfaced in recent hours and everybody was laughing about it, including LeBron James, who was in awe with the story and didn’t hesitate to pay respect to the Boston Celtics legend. After Dwyane Wade reacted to the video with a laughing emoji, the King went further and expressed his admiration for Larry, one of the greatest to ever do it.

“That is simply amazing! Furthermore, Larry Legend was a true monster! I adore his game so much! IQ was out of control, and the desire to simply play and win basketball was enormous! BEYOND HIS KNOWLEDGE,” James wrote on Twitter.

Bird was truly unique; he was a cunning player with an ordinary appearance who possessed extraordinary athleticism and was one of the greatest trash talkers in history. The three-time NBA champion made his impact on the league, and his accomplishments are widely acknowledged. LeBron’s high regard for Larry is a perfect example of why he was special and among the most important players of his era.
