Jaden Springer Discusses the Disparities Between the Boston Celtics and the 76ers.

The Philadelphia 76ers played a player they traded for during the trade deadline over the weekend. They will do so once more for the second straight game on Tuesday night.

Jaden Springer’s departure from the Sixers was the last transaction Daryl Morey and the team made before the deadline this season. A second-round pick was traded to the Boston Celtics in exchange for him.

Prior to this game versus his old team, Springer discussed some of the distinctions between the Celtics and Sixers.

It seems more like read and respond, to me. You’re going on the field and competing against each other,” Springer said to reporters the previous week. “Playing off of your teammates means that you’re only following their lead. It’s not truly set in stone; we have tasks to complete. Simply going outside and shooting hoops to play basketball.”

In 2021, the Sixers selected Springer with the 28th overall pick in the draft. He was obviously viewed as a long-term project because he was such a youthful and undeveloped possibility.

Springer spent the most of his time in the G-League honing his abilities throughout his tenure with the Sixers. In two and a half seasons, he participated in just 50 NBA games overall. He averaged 1.5 RPG and 3.4 PPG throughout that period.

The 21-year-old has played on the court very little or not at all since moving to Boston. Though he has appeared in two games, he has only played for three minutes in total.

The Sixers and Celtics play their fourth and final game of the season on Tuesday. Boston leads the season series 2-1 going into this game.
